Bebel Gilberto (daughter of one of the fathers of bossa nova, João Gilberto), accompanied by Chico Brown (son of famed Brazilian singer- percussionist-producer Carlinhos Brown, grandson of the polymathic legend Chico Buarque) beamed in from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in a special performance for NPR Music today in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month. Enjoy the view of Sugarloaf Mountain as she sings classics as well as a track off her new album “Agora.”

■ NPR’s Louder than a Riot examines the relationship between incarceration and music (in this case hip-hop instead of Johnny Cash). In part 2 with rapper Mac Phipps, he (from behind bars), a witness and his family discuss their loss of faith in the justice system.
